Let’s Get It On
A Sapphic Dating Event for Autistics & AuDHDs
Authentic Connection in a sensory sensitive space
Created by Rebecca Tolk, a late-diagnosed unmasked autistic
Facilitated by Rebecca and Karla Peña, a late-diagnosed ADHD human
Generously hosted at Gossip Grill
Description:
Let’s Get It On is designed to match tops with bottoms. A top(Dom) is someone who likes to be the giver or doer in a sexual/phycological experience. A bottom(sub) is someone who likes to be the receiver.. These are very general explanations of these roles. A switch is someone who likes to be both. If you are a switch, you can decide which side you want to be on for this event and you can switch sides next time.
Autistic sexuality can be a very different experience than the mainstream’s version of sex, especially as sapphics. Our nervous systems are wired differently so you may need extra pauses and agreements about sensitivities management, or maybe you are wired for extreme intensity. I aim to create a safe space for autistics to be able to explore sexuality with open conversations.
In-fact, our version of sexual relating could look like being asexual in the mainstream paradigm. Sexual relating, romantic feelings and the desire for a safe person to co-regulate with can all get tangled up in our brains, I know it does in mine. The cool thing is, we get to make it up however we want with honest dialogue about consent, boundaries, sensitivities and desires. So anyone on the asexual to sexual spectrum is welcome to join us at what I hope is a fun, lighthearted, sexy, flirty event!
~Rebecca
At this event 10 tops will be lined up across 10 bottoms for the mini conversations to meet each other and rotate every 5 mins.
You can purchase a ticket as either a top or bottom. If the ticket is sold out it means we have filled up that side. You can put your name on the waiting list if a seat opens up, or for the next event.
Who is this for? Single sapphic Autistics and AuDHDs who want to meet other single sapphics craving real heart-fluttering connection. All of us have been isolated and misunderstood for too long. Let’s come together with curiosity and compassion. Monogamy, Poly and ENM welcome. Age 21+ (Led by a 52 and 26 year old)
Sensory-Friendly Space + Setting Expectations:
Schedule: 3-5pm
If you have time blindness put 2:30pm arrival on your calendar. You can hang out at GG until check in.
Mini Conversations:
At the event you will receive a printed list of the suggested prompts for each conversation. You do not have to use them. There will be room to take notes if you want to remember anything. You can take this home with you. You may find you have enough to talk about just reading each other’s name tag answers.
The facilitator will tell you when to start and when to end in 4 mins. Then you have one minute of quiet to write your love notes and any notes for yourself.
Next you will stand up from your chair and move to the next chair. You must be able to stand and move chairs each time. It is easiest to not have many things with you to move each time. We are the only ones at the club, so you can leave your stuff at the side of the room or at the bar.
Sensory Seeker Menu:
Rebecca and Chef Julie have designed a fun menu especially for sensory seekers of food. You will be sent the menu on a google form the day before the event to fill out before you arrive. Orders will not be taken at dinner. You must pre order, and you will pay your server at the event. Some of the ingredients are special order so we want to make sure we have enough.
Love Notes:
These will be exchanged after each mini convo so there is no visual rejection (hoping to NOT trigger RSD). We provide bags to put them in for each person.
There are three options on them to check off:
Plus a place for your name and number if you want to connect.
Name Tags + Pictures:
You will receive a PDF file for you to print and fill out at home so you have time to think about your answers. There will also be some at the event to fill out if you do not have a printer.
Name tags are sized for half a piece of 8.5×11 inch paper horizontally. You can clip it to your shirt, punch holes in the paper and hang it around your neck, or use tape or safety pin to attach it to your clothing.
Colorful paperclips will be provided at the event to attach to your shirt or dress top. String, tape, hole punch will not be provided.
Besides your name, there will check boxes for questions like these or similar to help us learn more about each other:
Upon arrival pictures will be taken. we may also have a GG media person taking short video clips for promotional materials. please let us know at check in if you do not want to be photographed for promotional purposes.
If you do not want pictures taken with your name tag to share with all attendees, you may miss out on some connections. The pictures allow you to remember who gave you a love note, to help you decide if you want to connect.
